Broken tape.

Post Broken tape. 
I wonder if any of you guys can help mo out. I have managed to break the tape in a dv cassete, is there any way I can fix this?
It was easy wirh vhs but I think I need to drill the cassete to get it apart, then, how do I rejoin the tape?
I hope someone can help, thanks for reading this.

Back in the say, I used to fix my 60-90 minute cassettes with scotch tape. I did the same with VHS tapes. You will definitely have to open the MiniDV cassette to survey the damage. Once you see the type of material you are dealing with, you should be able to handle it from there. Worst case scenario is to contact the manufacturer and see if it has a remedy for the situation.
